Default Sealed Deck PvE

I was thinking about sealed deck formats and PvP and it made me wonder, why not a sealed deck PvE. Basically limit what heroes you can use and maybe create some new henchmen that are Sealed Mode only and that's what you've got to vanquish with or do missions with.

Maybe even what you can vanquish or which mission you could do that day is also sealed as well. You would go to the sealed mission/vanquish area of the day (doesn't have to be hardmode). While in that area the only heroes you can have in your party are the 3 selected ones and you can select from a random grouping of henchmen (maybe with builds randomly selected from a number of options as well). You could then be teleported in to a copy of an area to vanquish all the mobs or to do a mission. To make things interesting, you could have a different group of mobs than would normally occupy that mission or area.

If you complete the vanquish or mission you'd get some z-coins and maybe some other little bonus as well.

Perhaps there could be a special chest for completing the vanquish/mission as well and it would hold some items that could only be gotten from sealed PvE... or there would be something like a nick the traveller in those areas who only accepts a sealed drop only item.

it would need a little bit more polish in the implementation and rewards, but the overall concept is quite interesting

Can't see this being fun. Don't see how this will end up any different to Codex Arena, i.e, unused. Waste of resources.

They should try this for some future mission. And apply the codex rules to enemy bars as well.

I prefer variety. It seems like you want to force people away from Sabway and Discord, but not everyone uses those, and some people use an interesting mix of heroes and skills. This would limit that, and the people dead set on specific builds would not use it. Either it would never get used, or if forced it would cause people to stop playing. Seriously, did you think this over? PvE people like new things, but they don't like being forced into anything.... and sealed deck forces you to a set of skills.

Implementing the sealed deck mechanism in PvP makes sense because you want to be sure that also your opponents use the skills of the selected decks. But in PvE you have no opponents, if one wants to choose randomly a set of skills and have fun playing with them, he's free to do it on his own.

Yes and no. It's about adding challenge and variety back into the game and force people to switch up their H/Hing tactics. The shuffling of the mobs would help facilitate that as you'd have to make the most of a certain set up against foes that may not normally be seen in that area or with entirely new skill sets.

Basically it is something to mix things up for PvE.

Plus it would be completely optional if you don't want to use that feature you wouldn't have to.

I agree with what MagmaRed said. Another player trying to force Discordway out of the game because they don't like it. Again just don't use it.

Look at the Codex Arena and see how many people are there at any given time. Without the Z Combat being set there. I think I saw 10 people there and that was a lot. O_o

The sealed deck idea killed the Codex Arena right from the get go and a sealed deck for PvE would just be the most dumb ass idea Anet could do for the game.

I see Anet doing this as a way to force players to quit Guild Wars in order to shut down the severs when Guild Wars 2 is up and running.

I like it... the only issue I can see is that you're kind of stuck in your primary - some of the rules like primary only elites might need to be relaxed to accomodate.

I believe that this suggestion is suggesting that the sealed deck approach be completeley optional. Therefore, nothing would be forced upon you

Actually, I don't think that sealed deck killed the Codex Arena. imo, the real problem is that codex is a team arena. It would be better if the Codex Arena worked like the random arena. You could experiment with the small skillset and you play with 3 other people you know you will never see again. I think, nobody likes building strange teams with strange builds...
